Community Noticeboard
How do I put a notice on the Community Noticeboard?
  • e-mail your notice to the Community Web Co-ordinator Worlington@btinternet.com  and it will be uploaded for you.
  • You must ensure a contact name, telephone number, e-mail address and how long the notice will need to displayed are provided
  • Please note that uploading of new Notices will usually happen once a month, and usually during the last week of the month.

 Community Calendar
 How do I get an event on to the Community Calendar?

  • e-mail the name of the event / meeting; your organisation or group (if there is one); the date/s; start time and approximate length of event; venue; and any other necessary details to the Community Web Co-ordinator worlington@btinternet.com  and it will be uploaded for you.
  • You must ensure a contact name, telephone number, and e-mail address are provided.
  • Please note that uploading of Community Calendar events will usually happen once a month usually during the last week of the month.

Will anything I send for addition to the Community Calendar be added?

  • The event must be organised by a member of the East and West Worlington community, for members of the community, or by others for the purposes of members of the community.

How do I know the details on the Community Calendar are accurate and correct?

 

  • It is the responsibility of the person providing the information about the event for the Calendar to send correct information to the Community Web Co-ordinator, who will upload it.
  • It is the responsibility of the person providing the information to check the website to ensure the information on the website is correct.
  • If once uploaded details about an event change it is the responsibility of the person providing the information about the event to notify the changes to the Community Web Co-ordinator and to check that the changes have been made correctly.

How is the content provided for the web-site?

  • The content is provided by members of the East and West Worlington community.
  • The content is e-mailed to the Community Web Co-ordinator. Worlington@btinternet.com who starts the editorial process and uploads it onto the website

Is the content of the web-site always accurate?

  • It is the person who is providing the information and content to ensure it is provided accurately, to check it on the website to ensure it is displayed accurately, and to monitor it regularly to ensure it remains accurate and relevant.
  • The Editorial Team will monitor the website every six months to help quality assure the site.

Website Management
Who is responsible for the website?

  • A small community group have volunteered to act as an Editorial Team and they will have overall strategic responsibility for the website.
  • One person will act as Worlington Community Web Co-ordinator and be responsible for making developments and improvements to the website and uploading content.
  • The whole community has responsibility to provide, as appropriate, relevant information and content and provide constructive feedback to the Community Web Co-ordinator to help maintain the accuracy and quality of the website.

Who decides on what is included on the web-site and how are those decisions made?

  • The decision about content starts with the person providing the information.
  • The Community Web Co-ordinator Worlington@btinternet.com  will decide if the content is appropriate based on the protocols associated with the website.
  • The Community Web Co-ordinator may change the way the information is provided to enable it to be suitable for the website, but will not change any details. Any change will be checked out with the provider before it is uploaded to the website. If there are any items of content that do not meet the protocols or if there is disagreement between the provider and the Community Web Co-ordinator about the appropriateness of the content the issue will be referred to the Editorial Team.

If I find an error on the web-site what do I do?
  • E-mail the Community Web Co-ordinator outlining the error and the place of the error on the website. Worlington@btinternet.com

How do I know when new content and updates are added to the website?
  • you can keep searching the website to find any new updates
  • if you are a member of or connected to the East and West Worlington Community you can be added to the Community Website e-mail distribution list and receive regular e-mail notification of any new updates. Please ensure the Worlington Community Web Co-ordinator Worlington@btinternet.com has your e-mail address and written (e-mail message) permission to use it for regular updates. Your e-mail address can be removed from the distribution list at time by notifying, by e-mail, the Web Co-ordinator.

Sports and Culture
If I attend an event or events at a specific culture or sports venue and it is not on our community web-site how do I recommend it for addition?
  • E-mail the details of the venue, including any website information, to the Community Web Co-ordinator who will add it to the Sports and Culture page of our website. Worlington@btinternet.com

General Website Queries
Why have we developed a website for East and West Worlington?
  • The project supports the implementation of the Parish Plan.
  • The main aim is to add another dimension to information sharing and communication across the community of East and West Worlington by the use of the Internet.
  • Other aims include helping the community to access information about services, organisations and groups; people thinking of moving to the area; parents looking for education and childcare provision; to maintain a Community Calendar; and improving communication with the Parish Council (as outlined in the Parish Plan).

How much does having our website cost?
  • The software we are using for the website is provided as part of BT support for  charity and non-profit making community organisations and has no cost to the user.
  • The time spent developing, maintaining and managing the website is on a voluntary basis.
  • Content is provided by the community.
